Electro-Harmonix Hot Wax is a dual drive pedal, combining the EHX Crayon and the EHX Hot Tubes drive circuits into one housing. Unlike a lot of mid-voiced drive pedals, the Crayon is full range, and works great with bass or guitar. The Hot Tubes side of the pedal emulates the kind of distortion you’d expect from a overdriven tube amp. Use the Crayon side to drive the Hot Tubes side for a third drive voicing that really screams.
